after moving with my lovely fiancé paul and our cat to our little cottage in whitstable, i wanted to create a cosy home full of beautiful & vibrant accessories, with a nostalgic warm feel that would make us feel happy and relaxed.

I could see the products in my head but they weren’t in the shops! and what I did find were frighteningly expensive. So out came my sewing machine and to my amazement I tracked down some gorgeous vintage fabrics from my childhood and soon the house was vibrant & homely. Friends started complimenting on my designs and quickly commissions were coming in...cloth-ears was born!

what at first started as a little ‘part-time project’ at the beginning of 2007 has now become a full-time business. We now have several dedicated crafts people who have joined the cloth-ears family and we still make the handmade items in our studio in whitstable. I’ve never worked so hard! - but I’ve never had a job that i loved so much!

the over-whelming response to the handmade collections has enabled cloth-ears to grow and we now have a lovely range of complimentary homewares, plus a children’s and seaside collection...with more exciting ideas for the future.

we intend to keep our prices at a sensible level & still produce quality products, that we can all afford,  no niche items that you spend a weeks wages on, only to be too frightened to use!  I’m sure that you will find something that will put a smile on your face and bring back a nostalgic memory or two.
